FOUNDER OF VELOPHYSIO
CLINICAL SPECIALIST PHYSIOTHERAPIST
CYCLIST AND TRIATHLETE.

I set up Velophysio to provide physiotherapy specifically for cyclists and triathletes. As a cyclist I understand the complex nature of the bike, training, biomechanics, and bike fit, and realised this expertise was currently lacking in the field of Physiotherapy outside of the professional teams.

I have helped hundreds of cyclists and triathletes recover from injury and get back on the bike. Offering insight, knowledge, diagnostic skill, a variety of treatments including acupuncture, manual therapy, massage and specific rehabilitation. Riders have gone on to great achievements from riding their first century, completing the Transcontinental race, competing in Kona, to riding around the world.

My passion for cycling has also been part of my ambition. I understand the joy, the pain, the beauty and community of this great sport and feel fortunate to be able to combine my passions.

Testimonials

What our clients say

Nichola really is one of the best physios, and someone I trust. I am an ultra endurance cyclist and put my body through a lot of tourture. On several occasions she has been there to pick up the pieces and help me deal with injuries and issues so I can get back to cycling as quickly as possible. Without her guidance and help I would have been lost! Don’t hesitate to contact her, for friendly and honest advice.

James Mark Hayden

“When I found out I was going to be riding the full route of the Tour de France with the Internationelles in 2019, Nic was top of the list of people who I knew would be integral to my preparation and success. The treatment, advice and rehab, from someone who clearly understands the physical and mental side of cycling got me to a position where I could take on the monumental challenge. You can trust that Nic will get you back to, or keep doing what you love”

Helen Sharp

UNDERSTANDS THE NEEDS OF CYCLISTS

“I saw Nichola a couple weeks before the Etape du Tour. My legs had started giving way and I was struggling with my training, I was worried about even finishing. She helped relax the muscles in a couple of sessions and gave me exercises and advice to prevent this from happening in the future. This clearly saved my Etape, I even managed to place in the first 500! It was great meeting a physio that understands the needs and constraints of cyclists and triathletes.”

GUILLAME RONDY

Giving me the confidence

“Following a stress fracture to my right tibia I saw Nic for treatment. Nic’s understanding of my position as a frustrated athlete and her ability treat my injury, but to also identify what had caused the problem In the first place was amazing, giving me the confidence that my goal was still achievable.”

James Milne

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE

“In 2015 I ruptured a disc in my back and had severe sciatic pain. I was unable to sleep let alone ride a bike. I limped into Velophysio having tried various other physios and treatments, I was at a dead end. With Nic’s expert knowledge of cycling and physiotherapy I avoided surgery. 12 months later I came 5th in the National Champs 24hr TT and finished the ~4,000km Transcontinental Race. Nic’s excellent treatment and guidance were fundamental to my recovery, building my strength and improving my position to achieve my goals.”
